Celebrating International Women’s Day at Community Transport Sussex

This International Women’s Day (8 March) we are proud to share our commitment to advancing gender inclusivity. We proudly showcase our progress in promoting women within our  charity, cultivating a flexible work atmosphere, and encourage women to pursue careers in the sector including traditionally male-dominated roles such as minibus driving.

In just one year working for us, Jacqui Cooke, swiftly ascended from the role of Business Development Coordinator to Manager and part of the senior leadership team. Currently at the helm of an all-female business development team, Jacqui emphasises that our dedication to gender inclusivity goes beyond numerical representation. Jacqui takes pride in collaborating with a team of dedicated and hardworking professional women, collectively contributing to the accessibility of our services across the county through their unwavering commitment and hard work.

By elevating women to pivotal roles such as Depot Managers, Business Development Team and Manager and implementing policies that champion their success, our charity sets a notable precedent for all sectors in valuing and supporting female colleagues because there should be no barriers or restrictions in career progression.
